I can't draw mens legs...

I've finally finished both my collections and the technical flats to go with them! Hand in isn't until Tuesday so I'm well proud of myself for not leaving everything until the last minute, I don't feel like I've rushed anything either and now everything is in my portfolio I'm actually really happy with it all. We will have to see what Gary says about it though, eep.
My second collection was based upon my Prophecy trend and is aimed for a higher end company than the Toy Story one. As you can see, I cannot draw mens bare legs so just did close ups of the ones without trousers hah.

Illustrator is the bane of my life...

After being so excited about it the other day I am well and truly SICK of illustrator. Not to say it hasn't been useful though. I have successfully finished my final illustrations and technical flats for one of my collections. I did end up using illustrator for them and they turned out pretty well I think? I'm not 100% happy with the collection overall as it seems very basic and think that might be said during the presentations next week but ah well.
Heeeere they are, I haven't put them up in colour because my printer can only seem to differentiate between bright colours as apposed to dark, so navy blue is bright blue and just doesn't look right on here and meh. ANYWAY...

I have to do that basically all over again for my other collection, which will hopefully be completely different to that, although I'm not entirely sure where it's going yet.

MUST REMEMBER TO TYPE UP AND PRINT CONTEXTUAL STUDIES :-0

OHHHH

With thanks to Skye and Jason for giving me a copy of Illustrator I think I may have doubled my amount of work due for hand in! It's half past one and I've been sitting here happily playing around on it and actually having fun..? AND I really like the outcome of it, it's basically how I draw my finals anyway just more refined! But can I reeeeally justify spending that amount of time on them?!
Here's a sneaky peak.

P.S. My hair came out the same colour as on the box, when does that EVER happen?

I am RUBBISH at updating!

I haven't updates for aaages, I blame this gadget for it:

I've not really been using my laptop much since I got it cos I have everything I need in my palm! How exciting huh?
So I saw New Moon today and can I just say both Mr. Pattinson and Mr. Lautner were looking very very nice! Anyway... the film itself was really good, kept very close to the plot of the book and was much faster paced and exciting than Twilight.

I don't need to say a lot more than that really do I?! Can't wait for Eclipse to come out though.

At the moment I'm in the middle of a design project based upon the trends I came up with. I'm working with the Toy Story and Prophecy one and currently doing sketchbook work when I stumbled upon a menswear designer I'd never heard of before but really liked his work.

The designer is John Long and I really liked this collection of his, mixing together the tatty knits with the Lamé fabrics. I'm using inspiration from this collection and doing fabric manipulations to hopefully come up with something as interesting as this!

I love hand in

Today was the day of our trend board presentations! It was really interesting to see everyone's work and the variety of trends and ways of presenting them. These are my two other boards that I handed in today along with my Toy Story trend.

This board is named The Prophecy and is based around the end of the world and what we might leave behind. I gathered images from various sources but mainly from Above magazine, which has some amazing photography in it that is usually based around the environment:

This trend was named Brick-a-Brack Lane, and is a collection of things put together, which shouldn't necessarily go together. I wasn't all together pleased with this one but it got a good response from the rest of the class so I was really pleased! I collected various items from charity shops, Wilkinsons and made the rest:

Trend Forecasting

So, I've been working on this for a few days now and it's finally finished! This is one of my three 'boards' for a trend forecasting project at uni, which we have to present on Friday. This trend is named Toy Story and is based on characters from a Tim Walker photo shoot for Vogue. This project has been a nice change from designing and portfolio work, and I enjoyed making the felt toys despite them being very time consuming! Only two more to go...

SIGH

Oh Rob.

Even with a Lobster napkin and eating a Corn on the cob you still manage to look hot.

Moody Faces

I have an ever growing pile of things in my room, which I keep ignoring:

So what exactly am I doing with foam boards, a shoe box, porcelain cats, gold pegs, a fish pencil sharpener, a pile of felt, dog shaped rubbers, tinsel like fabric and a set of moody faces?
Well believe it or not it's actually very hard to explain... But they do have to become three trend boards by Friday :|
